Every day (mostly) I wake up excited to begin a fresh day with all kinds of possibilities. More possibilities than there is time for.

I like to make things. All kinds of things!

When I was very young growing up in Wisconsin, I liked to make pine needle houses in the woods behind my house. At age seven, my grandmother taught me to sew, and I loved making things with her! As a teen, I liked making poetry and making up songs on my guitar. In tenth grade geography, I made maps with lots of illustrations. And, in college, I loved making modern dance (choreographing) and I fell completely in love with making paintings. I still paint and I still like to make all kinds of things: knit hats, good soup, pretty skirts, flower gardens, a mess, books!

With so many ideas about making things, it seems I live inside my head most days, but I also live in a house in a village in a city called Minneapolis. I am lucky to live with my lovely family (husband, two kids, sweet collie, and many fish) in Linden Hills with its wonderful park, historic library, great bakery, coffee shop, café, florist, chiropractor, ice cream parlor, yarn shop, food co-op, hardware store, music school, TWO toy stores, and great children's bookstore. Most of the time I forget that I live in a big city, but the big city is fun too.

One of my best friends lives just a few blocks away from me. She is a round lake called Harriet where I go to think and walk. She always helps me figure things out. Life is good.
